Hi, my name is Dylan, and I am an upcoming senior in The Ohio State University School of Environment and Natural Resources majoring in Forestry, Fisheries, and Wildlife. I have previously only taken botany classes pertaining to woody plants but am excited to study more about the plant kingdom. I have been collecting houseplants for a few years now and enjoy identifying and learning about plants, especially those I can eat.

Although my degree specialization is Fish and Wildlife Science, being able to distinguish plants from one another will certainly aid me in future fieldwork. I currently work with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency as an ecological assessment intern in the Division of Surface Water and volunteer in the fish division of The Ohio State University Museum of Biological Diversity.

My coat of arms present below, displays my hometown, Chillicothe, Ohio where I spent most of my time exploring the forested hills, and waterways. My motto, “Go with the flow” relates to my love of water, and ideology that you should do what makes you the happiest, which in turn makes life the easiest. The symbol I chose is a smallmouth bass because they are one of my favorite fish species to target.
